4.Exam Pattern:

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) exam pattern is normally made up of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and is intended to assess the candidate's knowledge and understanding of subjects relevant to the undergraduate courses provided by the exam. Here's an outline of the exam pattern for KCET.:

Subjects : The KCET exam usually covers four subjects:
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Biology
Number of Papers: The KCET exam is divided into different papers based on the course the candidate is applying for. applicants for Engineering courses typically have papers in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, whereas applicants for Medical and allied fields have papers in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Number of Questions: The number of questions in each KCET exam paper varies. The total amount of questions and their distribution across disciplines may differ from year to year. Typically, each subject paper contains roughly 60 questions.

Types of Questions: All questions in the KCET exam are multiple-choice (MCQs), in which applicants are given four options and must select the correct answer.

Marking Scheme: Each question in the KCET exam is assigned a specific mark, and there is typically no negative marking for erroneous responses. Candidates receive one mark for each correct answer, with no deductions for incorrect responses.

Medium of Examination: The KCET exam is given in English and Kannada. Candidates can select their favorite language while taking the exam.

Exam duration: Each paper in the KCET exam lasts around 80 to 90 minutes. However, the actual period may differ slightly from year to year.

Mode of Examination: The KCET exam is normally administered in offline mode (pen and paper), with candidates issued with OMR (Optical record Recognition) sheets to record their responses.
