Joint Entrance Examination – Main

Hello engineers I hope you all are doing well. so, I am again here with a new article that is about JEE MAIN EXAM. I am going to explain everything about this exam. if any doubt or any mistakes you found pls comments us. we will try to avoid.

1.INTRODUCTION:

What is IIT-JEE?
  • The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other participating engineering institutes nationwide offer undergraduate engineering programs (B.Tech/B.E.). The entrance exam for these programs is called IIT-JEE, and it is administered at the national level.
IIT JEE Exam is conducting in two phase.

  • JEE MAIN
  • JEE Advanced

JEE Main is the first phase of the IIT Joint Entrance Exam (IIT JEE).The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a highly demanding engineering admission exam in India. An exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) determines admission to a variety of undergraduate engineering programs at prestigious universities like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) across the country.

There are two stages to the JEE Main exam: Paper 1 is for B.E./B.Tech courses, and Paper 2 is for B.Arch/B.Planning courses. Students can raise their results by taking it more than once a year, typically in January and April.

2.Eligibilty Criteria:

Usually, the following are required to be eligible for the JEE Main exam:

Age Limit:
  • There is No age limit for students appearing in IIT JEE Exam.

Educational Qualifications:
  • For B.E./B.Tech programs, applicants must have completed the 10+2 exam or its equivalent, which requires passing in mathematics and physics as well as one of the following: chemistry, biotechnology, biology, or technical vocational.
  • Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam or its equivalent with mathematics as a required subject in order to be considered for B.Arch programs.

  • Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam or its equivalent, with mathematics being a required subject, in order to be considered for B. Planning courses.

Number Of Attempts:
  • Candidates for JEE Main may take the exam up to three times in a row. All subsequent tries are made in consecutive years, with the first one being made shortly after the Class 12 board exam.
  • Two attempts at the exam will be given each year, for a total of six appearances by the candidate.
  • All candidates who plan to sit for the JEE Main must have completed at least five subjects in their qualifying exams, with math and physics serving as their core subjects.
  • Less than five subjects covered in the qualifying exam disqualifies a student from JEE Main. Language, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and one more elective are needed to be eligible for JEE Main.

3.EXAM PATTERN:
The following is usually included in the JEE Main exam pattern:
  • Examination Mode: Computer-based testing, or CBT, is used for JEE Main. On the other hand, the B.Arch drawing portion is done offline using a pen and paper.
  • Type of Questions: Multiple-choice (MCQ) questions with four possible answers are the norm for JEE Main questions. Furthermore, there can be questions with a numerical value component, in which applicants must submit a number as their response.
  • Subjects Covered: Three topics are covered in the exam:
    • Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech): Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry
    • Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning): Tests of Drawing, Aptitude, and Mathematics
  • Time
    • Each paper is the following length:
    • Paper 1: Three hours for B.E./B.Tech
    • Paper 2: Three hours (B.Arch)
    • Paper 2: Three hours (B. Planning)
  • Marking System
    • In Paper 1, a correct response usually receives four marks, and in Paper 2, two marks. For wrong answers, there is a negative marking system. In Paper 1, there is no negative marking for questions based on numerical values with erroneous responses. Instead, one mark is subtracted for each incorrect answer.
  • Total Marks
    • The total marks for Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Planning) can vary, however they are typically 300 for Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech).
  • Language of Question Paper
    • Depending on the option selected by the applicant during the application process, the question paper is available in English, Hindi, and other regional languages.
